2013 In Review!

A very big HELLO to the posh fraternity! Wow, it’s been a while since I posted on the blog for various reasons. In 2013, I took more of a back seat with my blog as I ventured into new territories. Mainly due to starting  The Black Soap Company, juggling being a single mother and doing various freelance journalism work. On a personal level, I ceased publishing my fashion looks as I decided to change my image and return to embracing my natural hair. My former ‘relaxed’ hair image that frequented this site no longer reflected the person I was and am becoming (getting slightly philosophical)..anyway to cut a long story short – I will be updating this blog more often, with more fashion looks that show my new and better image..and a little something more. I hope you all continue to enjoy and support the Posh Yardie journey.

2014 will be better than this – The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 3,800 times in 2013. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 3 trips to carry that many people.

2012 In Review – What A Year!

Check this out!  – The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 12,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 20 years to get that many views.

What is Shea Butter?

Have you ever wanted to know the secret to beautiful skin? Well look no further than the intensely rich moisturising qualities of pure unrefined Shea butter form the UK’s leading suppliers The Black Soap Company.

The Black Soap Company is the UK’s leading distributors of 100 per cent organic, unrefined Shea butter, which can be used on the face, hair and body. The company sources the finest quality Shea butter from Ghana in West Africa  and it is packed and shipped by our team in Hertfordshire.

What is Shea Butter?

Shea butter is the secret beauty treasure that has been extracted from the nut of the African Shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa) by African women for centuries. The Shea nut produces an ivory or yellow coloured fat that is then extracted and put through a traditional process of boiling and kneading to produce our luxuriously creamy and intensely moisturising, unrefined Shea butter. The cosmetics industry have been using Shea butter in many of our skin and hair products for decades and it is also a substitute used in the chocolate and food industry in place of cocoa butter. However, the Shea butter that  is used in the products of most mainstream cosmetic brands has been heavily refined, filled with chemicals and stripped of its natural minerals and properties and thus has little benefit to the user.

The Black Soap Company’s organic unrefined Shea butter is rich in vitamin A, D, F and E, and has the most  unique anti-ageing, healing and moisturising properties to keep your skin feeling revitalised, nourished and silky smooth all day.

What can Shea Butter Be Used For?

Silky smooth skin

Shea butter can be used on the face, body and hair to deeply moisturise the skin and penetrate the hair follicles like no other moisturiser on the market can. The effects of Shea butter on the skin are immediately noticeable from the first use. Your skin will instantly feel silky smooth as the deeply hydrating properties of the Shea butter is absorbed deep into your skin.

Effective as an anti-ageing product

Unrefined Shea butter has been proven to effectively and rapidly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by cosmetic scientists. As the Shea butter is loaded with the benefits of natural vegetable fat, it promotes cell regeneration beyond any product presently on the market.

Eliminate stretch marksWith regular use of our Shea butter you will notice stretch marks begin to lighten and eventually fade.

Rich in vitaminsOur unrefined Shea butter is one of the best natural products you will ever find as it is rich with vitamin E, F, D and A.

Great for your hair: The intensely moisturising qualities of Shea butter make it a perfect deep moisturising conditioner for all hair types, and it is especially good for repairing dry, brittle and damaged hair.

As a skin ointment: As well as cosmetic products, Shea butter is also widely used in the medicinal world as it is great for relieving problem skin such as eczema or soothing rashes and skin irritations.

Effective against UV radiation: Shea butter is used in many sun creams as it offers unique natural protection against UV radiation, and it is especially effective for healing burns quickly.

Grooming for men: Shea Butter is brilliant for male grooming as it is effective at relieving sensitive skin caused by shaving and is also great for removing shaving marks and bumps. Using Shea butter regularly after shaving will leave you with silky smooth, bump-free skin.

Great for Babies and the elderly: Shea butter is perfect for babies and the elderly as it is a natural product with soothing healing properties that is great for delicate and sensitive skin.

The Best Teeth Whitening Kit EVER!

Mellow yellow might be a trend you want to take up for summer, but it’s certainly not a trend you want to rock all year long, especially not on your teeth. So if your teeth are presently on a spectrum of fifty shades of yellow, then you need Zero Peroxide  to transform your teeth to a whiter shade in only 20 minutes. Zero Peroxide is 100% the fastest and safest at home teeth whitening kit presently available to buy on-line. For as little as £17.99 you can have the perfect, pearly white teeth and gums to rival the hottest celebrities without the hefty Harley Street price tag. Not to mention that there is no sensitivity whilst using Zero Peroxide as it contains no peroxide like other at home kits, and it also helps to strengthen your enamel whilst whitening your teeth. Leading Dental Hygienist Sharon Boyd also recommends Zero Peroxide:

“I would recommend the Zero Peroxide kit for patients that are concerned with possible sensitivity that can be associated with teeth whitening. Zero Peroxide whitening trays take pride in no sensitivity associated with their use. They also work faster so that you don’t have the whitening trays as long as other kits.

You can get the same whitening results using these kits as you would if you went to the dentist…but without the trip to the office or the cost associated with it.

The fluoride inside of Zero Peroxide whitening kits helps strengthen tooth enamel and prevent sensitivity. I love that it’s fighting tooth decay right along with your whitening treatment!”

The American Music Awards 2012

The 40th Anniversary of  the American Music Awards kicked off at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles last night with an opening  performance by Usher, who in my opinion should have just mimed throughout his entire set – As his vocals were totally off point when he did actually sing some parts.  Artists such as Justin Bieber Christina Aguilera, Nicki Minaj, Pink, Kesha, Carrie Underwood, The Wanted and the legend that is Stevie Wonder also performed on the night. Award winners such as the Queen B – Beyonce and Katy Perry did not bother to attend to collect their awards or possibly had more pressing engagements to attend.

The fashion on the night was certainly a mixture of great hits and even greater misses. It amazes me that these artists and celebrities have access to the best stylists and designer clothes in the world, yet some, such as Nicki Minaj can pull off the bride of Chucky look so effortlessly. Have a look at the gallery below and see for yourselves who executed the rocky horror show look the best! Might I add that the handsome Chris Brown who also performed alongside Swizz Beatz and Ludacris appears to be fronting his own ad campaign for the hungry – As he arrived on the red carpet looking very gaunt and somewhat skeletal like. Maybe this is a new trend I am presently unaware of, but it definitely is not a look worth imitating. Enjoy!
