What is French Green Clay?
French Green Clay is the most effective, deeply cleansing and majestic clay you will ever find and it is one of the most commonly used mineral skin clays found throughout the world.
French Green clay is made up of curative volcanic ashes which can be found near ancient volcanoes, 20-50 meters below the ground surface. The Black Soap Company’s French Green Clay contains only natural material and minerals which are treated mechanically, without any chemical additives.

How to Use The Black Soap Company’s French Green Clay as a Face Mask
- Scoop a small amount of French Green Clay into a ceramic or glass bowl.
- Use a teaspoon to add a very small amount of mineral or spring water into the bowl and use the wooden spatula provided to mix the clay into a smooth paste.
- Using the wooden spatula provided, apply a thin layer of the clay paste to your entire face and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes or until the clay dries. However, do not allow it to dry out too much.
- Rinse the mask off with warm water and then apply a thin layer of the pure cocoa butter provided to moisturise and fade blemishes. Your skin will feel fresh, revitalized, and clean and will generally look younger due to its lifting effect.
Please note that due to its ‘drying out’ action it is recommended that those with dry skin can add olive oil to the clay to moisturise and nourish the skin. Those with sensitive skin can add a small amount of chamomile tea to the clay to calm the skin. French Green Clay is also great for teenagers with breakouts by adding a small amount of Aloe Vera gel to the clay.
It is recommended that you do not exceed using French Green Clay as a facial mask more than once a week as the clay cleanses on a deep cellular level.
Always use wooden or plastic utensils when mixing and applying the clay as metal utensils may react negatively with the product and do not store or reuse any left over mixture.
